PIANO COURSES
Classical Piano
With a strong focus on sight-reading and technique from the start, the Classical Piano Course is a great introduction to piano for everyone from 5 to 50! Children are actively encouraged to learn independently in these formal music lessons and adults have the freedom to advance at a comfortable pace. Music students with prior qualifications and experience can also enroll at their last level achieved for a refresher or to further their musical studies. Beginner to lower grade classes can include theory of music within the allotted lesson times. Lessons are conducted individually and are geared towards grading achievements and qualifications provided by accredited examinations from the UK.
Leisure Piano
The Leisure Piano Course inspires one to learn and perform their favourite songs in the classical or jazz and pop genre. Absolute beginners will be taught basic technique and sight-reading from a classical background to support their learning and performance on advanced pieces. Sessions are conducted individually and taught at a pace that is most conducive to the enjoyment of the learning journey for the student regardless of age. Although there is no pressure to take exams, they are still an option for students seeking recognition and accomplishment for their efforts.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers!
ANSWER:
Children are typically ready between ages 5 and 7, when they can focus and have basic finger coordination. Some start at 4 with simpler lessons, while older beginners often progress quickly. Key factors include interest, attention span, and ability to follow instructions. A trial lesson can help assess readiness.
ANSWER:
Yes, consistent practice on an appropriate instrument is essential. An acoustic piano or 88-key weighted digital piano is best. Small keyboards without weighted keys may hinder progress, but a quality digital piano is a good alternative.
ANSWER:
Exams (e.g., ABRSM, Trinity, RCM) are optional but offer structure, goals, and motivation. Some students enjoy exams, while others prefer a more relaxed approach. Discuss with the teacher to determine what aligns with your child’s goals and learning style.
ANSWER:
The time it takes to learn piano depends on the individual, but with consistent practice (20–30 minutes daily), students can expect:
- Beginner (simple songs): 6–12 months
- Intermediate (scales, chords, classical pieces): 3–5 years
- Advanced (complex repertoire): 5+ years
Consistent practice and quality instruction can speed up progress.
